SL Media Gear

STARTING BACK IN '91, WE TRIED TO GET BY WITH THE CHEAPEST, BUT LOUDEST PA WE COULD AFFORD. PIECED TOGETHER WITH DUCT TAPE AND SCREWS, WE PATCHED OUR RIG TOGETHER AND WENT FROM COLLEGE TOWN TO COLLEGE TOWN. AS TIME WENT BY AND I STARTED TAKING OVER THE PA DUTIES, I BEGAN REPLACING THE OLD GEAR WITH NEWER TECHNOLOGIES. AT TIMES IT WORKED, AND AT OTHER TIMES THE NEW GEAR JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE OLD STUFF. AROUND 2000 I BIT THE BULLET AND JUST SOLD ALL THE OLD GEAR AND REPLACED THE WHOLE PA. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY, I NOW HAVE A VERY PORTABLE YET POWERFUL PA THAT IS CAPABLE OF DOING A WIDE VARIETY OF PERFORMANCES. I CAN OPERATE THE ENTIRE PA WIRELESSLY WITH AN iPAD AND MULTITRACK EVERY SINGLE SHOW. THE LIGHTING SHOW HAS ALSO CHANGED WITH THE ADDITION OF COMPUTER CONTROLLED LED LIGHTING, COMBINED WITH MOVING HEADS AND SCANNERS.
I'M CAPABLE OF PROVIDING DIFFERENT PACKAGES FOR DIFFERENT SIZED EVENTS, SO HIT ME UP ON MY CONTACT PAGE AND WE CAN DISCUSS WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU.

Scott Carter:

Starting at the ripe old age of Eleven, Scott started the dream of being in a cover band. Learning Led Zep, RUSH, and Van Halen licks - Scott tortured nearby neighbors with some terrible sounding noise on a daily basis. Thru friends from High School (post-graduation) he got an opportunity to get into the college band scene - not on guitar, but on Bass. Learning 50 songs in one week - he got the job with THE PUSH in 1991. THE PUSH played the southeast college scene for a good 7-8 years before finally deciding to play more local bar gigs. After a few years of doing the Bass gig with THE PUSH, the guitar position opened up and he finally switched to Lead Guitar - Scott was with The PUSH for close to 15 years!... taking a small break from the road here and there. He made it his mission to make sure they played on the best equipment available, including an outstanding light show! He also handled the thankless job of "hauling the gear", sound and light man, website updates and more. After THE PUSH daze, Scott picked up the Bass again and played on and off with Reality Check for a couple of years and then reuniting with Kenny Mays and playing Bass with Asphalt Eyes. What goes around comes around, and it was only a matter of time before Slappy got back on the 6-string. In 2012 Scott got back on guitar and formed OCD, an 80's rock band formed from members from previous projects. OCD had a successful but short-lived existence, and in the summer of 2013 OCD ended. Over the years of playing, Scott owned nearly all the gear and learned a thing or two about running sound and lighting, as well as keeping the gear fresh with the latest technology.  This knowledge and experience is now being put to use in the sound and lighting production of SL Media.
